AMICO Announces New Member and User Services Staff

AMICO is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Sayre as Director of Member Services and of Kris Wetterlund as Director of User Services. Sayre and Wetterlund begin work out of AMICO's new US offices in Minneapolis on August 19th, 2002. They will be planning a range of new services for AMICO Members and Users of The AMICO Library that will be announced for discussion this fall and implemented over the next two years.

Scott Sayre comes to AMICO with a Doctorate in Education and Training and over ten years of museum experience. Sayre founded the Interactive Media Group at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and has an international reputation for leadership in the field of art museums and technology. He has chaired the American Association of Museums Media and Technology Committee, received over a dozen national and international awards for his work in multimedia and web development and led the Institute as a founding member of AMICO. Most recently Sayre established ArtsConnectEd, a unique educational portal that integrates the collections and educational resources of the MIA and the Walker Art Center.

Kris Wetterlund has over ten years of experience as an art museum educator with a specialty in connecting K-12 education with art museums. Wetterlund was the Director of Education at the Minnesota Museum of American Art and more recently designed, implemented and managed a Minnesota-wide teacher train the trainer program for ArtsConnectEd. Wetterlund has received a number of awards for her work including the Art Educators of Minnesota's Exceptional Service award and an AAM MUSE award for her work in developing the MIA's online educational unit "Get the Picture: Thinking about Photographs".
