Day
With(out) Art (DWA) began in 1989 as the national day of action
and mourning in response to the AIDS crisis. It was a way for arts professionals
to support AIDS awareness and promote positive action. While our museum
members support DWA by shutting down their institutions, sending staff
to volunteer at AIDS services, or sponsoring special exhibitions of
work about AIDS, AMICO is also showing our support by blocking access
to the thumbnail catalog of The AMICO
Library.
Please take a moment to reflect on the loss that AIDS
has had for the world of art. We hope you'll visit this feature of the
AMICO home page at another time.
